Concert Buddy?

I was just wondering if anyone is going to the show in Aledo tomorrow and wants a concert buddy?

Requirements: must clap on beat, laugh at bad jokes, and not judge me for singing along to all the songs word for word 😅

My buddy Bronson

ree

Hi folks

I wanted to let you know that my friend and fellow musician Bronson passed away a few weeks ago. I missed the service but I will always remember what a dedicated passion-driven sweetheart he was. In case you want to read, here is the obit. 🥲 Gonna miss him.

Neal “Bronson” Scott Herrmuth, 68, peacefully passed away May 7, 2025 in Murfreesboro, TN, after a year-long battle against brain cancer.

Born October 18, 1956 to Willard and Maxine Herrmuth in Columbus, Ohio, Bronson traveled the country as a “military brat” with his parents and older siblings, Mike and Vickie, before the family settled down in Fort Madison, IA, when Bronson was still a child.

During that childhood nestled along the Mississippi River, he took an instant calling to music. Whether it was the guitar, harmonica, mandolin or fiddle, you could find him honing his musical skills and ultimately…

Thanks Suzy. So glad you were able to have Bronson perform with you on the Opry. I'm sure that meant a lot to him. One of his websites I followed: https://iowahomegrown.com

Happy Easter!

Hi all.

I hope you're enjoying a pleasant spring weekend. We've had the most amazing weather here in Franklin the past few days!

When I posted last I mentioned a cherished memory of Charlie Walker and me at the Wembley Country Music Festival in 1989. Here's the story:

After the ACM awards in spring of 1989 I was invited to perform at the International Festival of Country Music, originated in 1969 by the infamous Mervyn Conn. It was a huge honor, and even though I'd been told about the giant arena and the legacy of this gathering, I couldn't have been prepared for what would happen the night of my performance.

Doug and I flew to London and along with fellow newly weds, Lorrie Morgan and Keith Whitley. We were shuttled to a darling boutique hotel and spoiled with amazing hospitality and meals. I had been advised to hire an…

Dakota shows

Anyone going to the Dakota shows next week?

My hubby is in the hospital & probably still will be, but a friend is going with me instead. Maybe she’ll be a new IC member after that? 😃

Tonight Steve and Johnnie

I’ll be joining (by phone) Steve and Johnnie on WGN radio tonight at 10:30 pm cdt

We’ll be discussing the postponement of the Illinois Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It’s due to the venue being closed for asbestos traces.

Bummer, but hopefully they’ll get it taken care of and we’ll do the show next spring.

Daryl Mosley

Nashville songwriter and musician Daryl Mosley performed recently at the First United Methodist Church in my hometown. He would make a great guest on a future Wine Down Wednesday!
